How do I read an Options Recon card?

Options ReconLast updated October 27, 2026
Quick answerEach card is one big one-sided options bet: the ticker, CALL or PUT, the strike (or strikes), the expiry and the days left, how far the strikes sit from the price, the score, and the money behind it.
The details

The top line

Rank, ticker, CALL or PUT, the strike (or strikes, like 530 / 510), the expiry, the days left, and how far the strikes are from today's price.

The numbers

  • CALL / PUT: the side the big money is on. A card appears only when one side holds at least 2ร— more big-order money than the other on that ticker and expiry.
  • % OTM / ITM: how far the strikes are from the price, weighted by the money on each. 8%+ OTM is marked amber: an aggressive strike.
  • Premium: the dollars in the individual large orders only (each over 250 thousand dollars and unusually big for that ticker and strike).
  • Block size: the contracts in those same orders. Orders: how many separate orders.
  • Vs open interest, Strikes hit and Sweep-confirmed: what they mean.
  • First order: when the first big order went through, Eastern time. IV: how big a move the market has priced in.

The score on the right: how it is worked out. A full card, line by line, is in the ๐Ÿ“– Guide.
