Why does Options Recon show Friday's session on the weekend and on Monday?
Quick answerThe board always shows the last finished session, and it posts each one in the evening after the close. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the day that is still Friday's; Monday's cards arrive Monday evening.
The details
- The board reads end-of-day data: after 4:00 PM it reads the whole session and posts that session's cards in the evening.
- No market on the weekend means no new session, so Friday's board stands until Monday evening.
- A market holiday works the same way.
The session's date is always next to the title ("Hottest plays from the Fri, Oct 9 session"), so stale data is never shown as current. More: why it shows yesterday's session.
