Why does Options Recon show yesterday's session?
Quick answerThe board runs on end-of-day data: after the close it reads the whole session and posts that session's Top 5 in the evening. During the day you see the previous session's cards.
The details
The board always shows one session, named next to the title: "Hottest plays from the Tue, Oct 6 session" means every card was built from Tuesday, October 6's trading.
When it updates
After the market closes, it reads the full session and posts that session's Top 5 in the evening. So during the day you are looking at the previous session's cards, and the new ones arrive that evening.
We are working on the live intraday feed. When it is in place the board will update during market hours again, and this article will say so.
Stale data is never shown as current: the session's date is always on the board.
