Can I close a Layered Options spread early?
Quick answerYes: it is your position. Closing early takes whatever the spread is worth then, profit or loss. The record follows the plan: the GTC target, or expiry.
The details
- To close: cancel the GTC, then sell the vertical (to close) at a limit.
- The plan: let the GTC work, and let a loser run to expiry, where it can still recover (what happens at expiry).
