Should I take profit at the conservative or the aggressive target?
Quick answerEither, or both. Conservative: take it all at the near target, smaller wins more often. Aggressive: hold it all for the full move. Both, the way the record scores it: half off at the conservative target, stop to your entry, the rest to the aggressive target.
The details
Three ways to trade the same call
- Conservative: take the whole trade off at the conservative target. Smaller wins, and they come most often.
- Both (how we score it): half off at the conservative target, move the stop to your entry, and let the rest run to the aggressive target. A sure piece, and a free shot at the full move.
- Aggressive: hold the whole trade for the aggressive target with the stop where it started. Bigger wins, fewer of them, nothing banked on the way.
The record follows "both", so that is the one to compare with (reading the record). Where each level sits and why: the targets and the stop.
