What are the six TriTrader+ triangles, and which ones are called?
Quick answerTriTrader+ names six shapes. The three that break up are the calls: the Symmetrical Triangle, the Ascending Triangle and the Falling Wedge, plus a Descending Triangle that closes up through its top on the daily chart. The breakdowns are drawn, never called.
The details
TriTrader+ draws trendlines through the swing highs and lows on every candle close, keeps the two lines price respected most, and names the shape.
The buys (called)
- Symmetrical Triangle: two lines squeezing price into a point. The close up through the top line is the buy.
- Ascending Triangle: a flat ceiling and rising lows. The close through the ceiling is the buy.
- Falling Wedge: both lines falling and narrowing. The break up is the buy (daily chart).
- Descending Triangle, daily: a flat floor and falling highs. A decisive close up through the falling top is a buy.
Drawn, not called
- The Symmetrical Triangle breaking down, the Descending Triangle breaking down, and the Rising Wedge.
They stay on the chart so you see what it is doing. The sells lost money on every timeframe in testing (why some are not called). Each card is outlined in its triangle's colour, so the same shape always reads the same. More on the shapes: triangle patterns.
