How much money does a Layered Options trade take? How do I aim for more?
Quick answerOne contract risks the debit × 100: a debit around 0.60 risks about 60 dollars. The post lists the risk per contract, the most it can make and what the target makes. More contracts scale all three; size is your choice.
The details
Per contract (one spread)
- Risk: the debit × 100. That is all you can lose.
- Most it can make: (the 1-dollar width − the debit) × 100.
- If the target hits: (target − debit) × 100, a quarter of the debit.
Every post prints all three: "Risk per contract · Most it can make · If the target hits".
Bigger
Two contracts is twice the risk and twice the gain; ten is ten times. Pick a size you would be fine losing in full on one Thursday, since a losing trade can go to nothing.
There is no promise of a weekly amount. The record on your page shows what past trades did (the record).
