What are the 10-session timer and the last day?
Quick answerEach ticket lives for 10 trading sessions after the fill. If the +40% sell has not filled by then, close the spread yourself on the 10th session in the afternoon. The ticket shows that last day.
The details
- The timer counts trading sessions, not calendar days: weekends and market holidays don't count.
- On the last day, our check at 3:50 PM ET closes it on the record at what it is worth. Close yours that afternoon.
- Homemade Options Alerts send a last-day reminder that morning for any ticket still open.
- Never hold to expiry. The expiry is about a month out, well after the last day. A short call that ends in the money can be assigned.
On the dashboard the kitchen timer shows how many of the 10 have gone.
