What is Homemade Options?

Homemade OptionsLast updated November 2, 2026
Quick answerA tool that cooks one kind of options trade from scratch every trading day: at 3:00 PM ET it reads the live option chain and serves up to 3 ready tickets, each a bullish call debit spread, and only when it is on sale under the 43¢ Rule.
The details
  • At 3:00 PM ET we check every ticker on the menu: the index funds, the big names and the sector funds.
  • The ones at a fresh 20-day high go In the Oven. For each one we price a call debit spread from its live option chain.
  • Only on-sale spreads are served: 43¢ or less for every 1 dollar of width (the 43¢ Rule).
  • Up to 3 tickets a day land on your dashboard, each with the strikes, the expiry and the most to pay.

Then you fill it by 4:00 PM ET, set one sell order at +40%, and the 10-session timer does the rest (how to take a ticket).

A tool to find cheap spreads, not advice. Every spread can lose what you paid for it.
