How does Slingshot work?Slingshot watches RSI on the 30-minute chart. When a stock is oversold (at its own RSI level) and a candle closes above the previous candle's high, it fires: that close is the entry, with the script's target and stop.

When do I get out of a Slingshot trade? Why is the stop so wide?At the target or the stop, whichever price touches first, even mid-candle. Set both as orders when you get in. The stop is wider than the target by design: that is the script's plan, and why it reaches its target so often.

Why the 30-minute chart for Slingshot?It is the chart Slingshot ran on at TradingView and the one its alerts came from. We also tested the 1-hour, 4-hour and daily: the 1-hour did about as well, the daily and 4-hour worse, so the 30-minute is the chart we call.

Slingshot, Coiled Spring or Trend Rider: what is the difference?Slingshot buys an oversold dip snapping back on the 30-minute chart, out at a small target. Coiled Spring buys a daily stock coiling tight and snapping out on a volume surge. Trend Rider rides the 50 EMA turning green on a volume surge, on a trailing stop.
