Where is the Trend Rider stop and target? When do I sell?

Trend RiderLast updated October 27, 2026
Quick answerThe stop trails 3 ATR under the close and only moves up; a candle that closes at or under it ends the trade. The target is 12 ATR, four times the starting risk, reached on a close. Most trades end on the trailing stop.
The details
  • Entry: the signal candle's close.
  • Stop: 3 ATR under the highest close since the entry. It rises with every higher close and never falls. The card's SL is where it sits now.
  • Target: 12 ATR from the entry, on a close.

Why we hold longer than the TradingView script's quick 2.25 ATR take profit: riding the trailing stop made about twice as much a trade on the daily chart, in training and held-out years alike. Fewer trades win, and the winners are bigger.
