What does the Market Weather Light mean?
Quick answerIt reads where SPY closed against its 200-day average and shows how the 1-2-3 record did in that kind of market: green for its best weather, red for its weakest, yellow in between. It never changes a call.
The details
What it reads
SPY's last daily close against its own 200-day average, every evening. Three kinds of weather:
- Knocked down: SPY under its 200-day average.
- Riding high: SPY up to 10% over it.
- Stretched: SPY more than 10% over it.
Where the colour comes from
Every finished 1-2-3 call is sorted into the weather it was called in. The kind of weather whose calls did best on average is green, the weakest red, the middle yellow. Under the light you see each one's real numbers: how many calls, how many closed in profit, and the average call (see it).
What it does not do
- It does not change any call: every 1-2-3 that passes the rule is still called, in all weather.
- It is a lean, not a law. When most of one kind of weather's calls came in a single year, the page says so.
