What is the difference between a MagniZone Breakout Buy and a Bounce Buy?

MagniZone 2.0Last updated October 27, 2026
Quick answerA Breakout Buy is a close up through a resistance zone, with the stock within 5% of its 52-week high. A Bounce Buy is a dip that holds: on the daily chart a return to a zone it just broke, on the 4-hour a sharp drop into support that closes back above it.
The details

Breakout Buy

  • A candle closes up through a resistance zone (a wick does not count).
  • The stock is within 5% of its 52-week high: 5 to 10% below it lost money in testing.
  • On the 4-hour chart, the close is at least 1% past the zone.

Bounce Buy

  • Daily: price comes back to the zone it just broke and closes back above it (the retest).
  • 4-hour: a stock above its 50-day average drops at least 3 ATR into a support zone within 10 candles and closes back above it. Its stop is half an ATR under the zone and its one target is the swing high it fell from.

Every call

The market is up (SPY above its 50-day average), one call per chart at a time. Slow drifts into support, bounces down and sells lost money as a group in testing, so they are drawn, never called (how MagniZone picks its calls).
