What do the Coiled Spring stars mean, and which springs are called?

Coiled SpringLast updated October 27, 2026
Quick answerThe stars (★★ to ★★★★★) come from the tension at the snap and set the target: 3, 4.5, 6 or 9 ATRs from the snap's close. Only ★★★★ and ★★★★★ daily Spring Ups are called (a tension of 75 or more).
The details
  • ★★ to ★★★★★: the higher the tension at the snap, the more stars and the further the target.
  • Called: daily Spring Ups at ★★★★ (target 6 ATR) and ★★★★★ (9 ATR).
  • Drawn, not called: lower stars, Spring Downs, and every intraday snap (why daily).
