Why does Coiled Spring only call the daily chart? I used it on the 1-hour
Quick answerWe tested the script on 248 stocks and ETFs: as written, the snap was close to a coin flip on every chart. What held up on years the test never saw was the daily chart, the strongest springs. Your intraday Spring Ups are still drawn the way TradingView draws them.
The details
Coiled Spring 2.0. The script's fixed limits (averages within 0.3%, a 10-day range under 1%) almost never arm on a daily chart, because a day moves more than an hour. 2.0 reads those limits against each chart's own ATR, so a daily chart coils the way a calm 1-hour chart does. Everything else is the script.
We tested more, and this is better (only the best setups).
