What is the Hot Dog pattern?
Quick answerThree candles: a red one, then a green "sausage" with a bigger body than both and the highest high of the three, then a red one. The dotted line is the sausage's high: the first close above it is the buy.
The details
- Bullish: red, a big green sausage with the highest high, red. Bearish: the mirror.
- Reversal or Continuation: after a falling 10-candle average it is a reversal; otherwise a continuation. Both tested the same, so both are called.
- A pattern stays armed until it breaks; a new one counts only 10 candles after the last.
